The body of a 22-year-old man has been recovered from Chemainus Lake after a boating accident.
North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP got a call around 10:30am about a canoe that had capsized with two men on board.
A 22-year-old man from Nanaimo was able to swim to shore, where he was treated by paramedics, but there was no sign of his friend.
Cowichan Valley Search and Rescue and an RCMP dive team were called in to search for the missing man.
RCMP say the victim was also 22, and from Nanaimo. His name has not been released.
