The Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation has hired a new CEO.
Board Chair Andre Sullivan says John Hankins has extensive economic development and private sector experience.
He spent five years as Vice President of Calgary Economic Development, and has since run a successful international business consulting company.
Hankins currently lives in Okotoks, Alberta, but he’s originally from England.
Sullivan says the role of CEO pays $130,000 per year. He says they’ll look to him for guidance on a number of major projects, but they’ll give him time to settle in first.

Hankins will start his new position with the NEDC on January 4th.
