Area NDP MLAs champing at the bit as new session begins at Leg.

A new session of the Legislature is set to open, and the area’s NDP MLAs say the government had better be ready to answer some tough questions.

Nanaimo MLA Leonard Krog says Liberal policies on a host of things like BC Ferries and Hydro are making life harder for ordinary British Columbians.

Powell River Sunshine Coast’s Nicholas Simons says that despite the Transportation Minister’s insistence the decision on cuts is final, Ferries will remain a hot issue.

Doug Routley is the NDP MLA for Nanaimo North Cowichan, and critic for skills training, He says the worsening relationship between the government and the province’s teachers will be in his sights.

The session opens Tuesday afternoon with a Speech from the Throne. Budget day is the 18th.
