A 27 year old Nanaimo woman is facing charges after another woman was attacked with bear spray.
It happened Sunday (Feb 9th) morning at a local hotel. RCMP say the victim was in her room at the hotel, and went to answer a knock on the door. A man and woman waiting outside spayed her and then ran away.
Police say all three know each other. The man involved isn’t being charged, but the woman will appear in court in May on charges of possession of a dangerous weapon and assault with a weapon.
Several rooms of the hotel had to be evacuated because of contamination from the bear spray.
