The 2014 BC Summer Games are coming to Nanaimo in July and organizers want to get people in the spirit! The community rally is happening Saturday, February 8, at Woodgrove Centre. There will be displays, demonstrations, live entertainment, speeches by Nanaimo Mayor John Ruttan and Games President Jeff Lott, and cake! Vice President Bruce Hunter says they’ll be recruiting volunteers to help make the event possible.
The event on Saturday runs from 11:00am-2:00pm. The Nanaimo 2014 BC Summer Games are happening July 17-20. There will be 19 different sports represented, and the event is expected to attract up to 3,900 athletes, coaches and officials from across the province.
