Parks and rec departments in the area are getting into the Family Day spirit by offering free or low cost events for the long weekend.
The Sunshine Coast Regional District got some grant money to offer free admission to all their facilities… including Dakota Ridge, on Monday.
Free admission is being offered at the Gibsons and Sechelt Aquatic Centres from 1 to 5pm, and from 1 to 4pm in Pender Harbour.
Free skating, including skate rentals, is set for the Gibsons and Sechelt rinks from 2 to 3:30.
Nanaimo’s Parks and Rec Department is planning a “Family Play Day” on Sunday from 9:30 to 12:30 at the Oliver Woods Community Centre. There is a small admission fee.
The Regional District of Nanaimo is hosting a free swim at the Ravensong Aquatic Centre from 10am to 2pm on the 10th.
