Stabbing at Castaway Motel in Nanaimo

Nanaimo RCMP are investigating a stabbing at the Castaway Motel. It happened at about 1:30am on Sunday, February 2nd.  A 60-year-old man was treated at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for non-life-threatening stab wounds and released several hours later.

Robert Pearce fled from the scene and was arrested the next day. The 25-year-old has been charged with Robbery and Aggravated Assault and is still in custody. He will be making an appearance in Nanaimo Provincial court on Tuesday, February 4th. This is an isolated incident and the men knew each other. The knife used in the attack has been recovered.
