BC Ferry Coalition taking message directly to premier

The group behind January’s massive protests against cuts at BC Ferries is taking its message to the premier’s doorstep.

Members of the BC Ferry Coalition are heading to Christy Clark’s Vancouver office Tuesday morning to deliver hundreds of personalized letters urging the premier to immediately put the service cuts and fare increases on hold.

Coalition Chair Jef Keighley says there’s been no calming of the anger people are feeling, or their worries about how higher fares and fewer sailings could hurt communities.  He says most of the letters were handed over sealed, but he’s read many others that weren’t and the messages are clear, and compelling.

It’s unclear if the premier will actually be at her office to hear the message in person.  The cuts to BC Ferries are supposed to start on April 1st.
