After some parts of Nanaimo were blanketed with several centimetres snow overnight, road conditions were sketchy this morning and there were numerous accidents. Nanaimo RCMP Sgt. Sheryl Armstrong says luckily there were no major crashes or injuries, but the melted snow will turn into ice overnight, creating hazardous conditions.
Armstrong says they’re recommending drivers take their time and leave extra space between cars to avoid accidents. She says drivers have to be better prepared and ready to adjust their habits when snow falls.
