United Way enjoying new Nanaimo office space

The United Way of Central and Northern Vancouver Island is finally savoring the feeling of having their own office. Executive Director Signy Madden says they have moved into their new location at 327 Prideaux Street, after 55 years of sharing office space. She says it’s an exciting step for the organization, and it took some creativity to make it possible to buy the building from Century Group.

Madden says securing their own office has been a long term goal. She says it will serve their staff, volunteers and campaign teams very well. They’re currently funding 53 agencies which are running 60 different programs in Nanaimo, Port Alberni, the Comox Valley and Campbell River.  this year, supporting over 20,000 people. She says the money they’ll save on leasing space will go towards supporting even more people in the communities they serve.
