The Sunshine Coast Housing Committee is opening a series of public workshops Tuesday, as it gathers ideas for a Strategic Housing Action Plan it hopes to have ready by the end of the year.
Tuesday’s workshop is in Gibsons, and there’s one in Sechelt Wednesday. The Committee will follow up in September with events in the rural areas.
Committee Coordinator Matt Thomson says they want to get a good picture of the different needs, and possible solutions, for each community.
Thomson says the Strategy they’re working on will include that focus on the needs of each area as well as elements aimed at local governments and the non-profit housing sector
The workshop tonight runs from 6 to 8 at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre. Wednesday’s workshop in Sechelt is from 6 to 8 at the Seaside Centre.
