Island Health says they’re hiring more Nurse Practitioners to work on the mid-island.
Joanne Mclaren, Director of Professional Practice, says it’s part of a promise they made when the “Nurse Practitioners for BC” program was launched the years ago by the Ministry of Health.
Mclaren says Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced medical training.
She says four of the eight Nurse Practitioners they’re hiring will be working in Nanaimo and Ladysmith.
