More than 300 people from around the world are arriving in Nanaimo Sunday to talk aquaculture.
The Aquaculture Association of Canada‘s Blue Revolution 2.0 conference runs until Wednesday, with presentations from industry, researchers and government.
Association President Kathy Brewer-Dalton says for the first time in history, consumption of farm-raised seafood has surpassed wild seafood… and Canada is on the cutting edge.
Brewer-Dalton says the program will also extend into local schools.
Topics being discussed at the 4 day conference include First Nations aquaculture, and aquaculture’s role in food security.
