Nanaimo RCMP are investigating a major theft at Vancouver Island University’s Nanaimo campus.
A statement released by VIU says, “On Monday evening and Tuesday morning, two break-and-enter incidents occurred at Vancouver Island University’s (VIU) Nanaimo campus — one in the Arts and Humanities Building; the other in the VIU Bookstore. In both cases valuable equipment, including laptops and cameras, was stolen.
Nanaimo RCMP were on site for both incidents and are investigating; VIU will also be conducting a thorough review which will include assessing additional preventative measures the University can implement.”
Neither RCMP, nor VIU, have released any information about the estimated dollar values involved.
