Nanaimo RCMP have arrested a 29-year-old woman who left a suspicious package at the Nanaimo Courthouse.
On Friday around 11:50am, a woman walked in and dropped a suspicious package on the counter. She also made some concerning comments.
Sergeant Sheryl Armstrong says, out of an abundance of caution for public safety, the BC Sheriff Service and Nanaimo RCMP made the decision to evacuate the building.
Armstrong says the RCMP Explosives Devices Unit determined the package was not an explosive.
