Nanaimo RCMP say they think a dispute over an unpaid drug debt led to one man being stabbed and another being bear sprayed yesterday.
Police were called to a home in the 600 block of 7th Street around 1:30 in the afternoon, after reports of a home invasion.
During a scuffle between the two men living there and the suspect… A 38 year old was bear sprayed and hit with a rifle butt. The suspect was stabbed in the neck.
RCMP say they caught up with him at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Police are recommending charges, including break and enter, assault and weapons offenses as well as violation of court ordered conditions.

They don’t plan to charge the 38 year old.
