The people working to bring car sharing to the Sunshine Coast say they’ve got the members and they’ve got the money so they’re set to launch.
The Coast Car Co-op has been working to sign up its first 50 members since late last year, and they’ve just confirmed their financing.
Johan Stroman is the executive director. He says they’ve set March 1st as the launch date, and he expects things to really snowball once people see the service in action.
Coast Car Co-Op is going to start with 3 cars, all based in and around Gibsons. They’re also working on agreements with Nanaimo CarShare, Modo in Vancouver and others to allow their members to book cars in other cities.
