RCMP, Nanaimo Fire Rescue investigating early morning incidents

Nanaimo Fire Rescue says it’s bringing in the RCMP after a series of small fires early Thursday morning.

NFR says was called out five times in the space of six hours.

Investigators believe all the fires were intentionally set.

Fire Prevention Officer Ennis Mond says the first incident happened just before 6:00am on Nichol Street.

The second incident occurred shortly after at the Days Inn across the street, where two fires were set in landscape areas.

NFR and the RCMP are asking anyone with information to get in touch by calling the Fire Department at 250-753-7311. If you see a fire call 9-1-1.
