The chair of Sechelt Innovations Limited says they’re ready to get out and sell businesses on setting up in the District.
SIL was created last year, with a budget of 300-thousand dollars and a mission to bring in 3 business investments that create at least 30 jobs within a year.
In his first update for Council, Chris Fawcus explained they think of themselves more as a sales and marketing organization than an economic development agency. And he says they’re targeting businesses that fit a specific mold.
Fawcus also says there’s a lot of potential for Sechelt in trying to attract Lower Mainland businesses feeling the squeeze of rising land costs.
