Nanaimo City Councillors will be taking a long, hard look at the budget.
They’re participating a special Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, dedicated entirely to this year’s financial plan.
Director of Finance Brian Clemens says a vote on the budget at an earlier council meeting ended in a tie, and some Council members wanted more information.
He says this year’s budget is just slightly less than last year’s, which was roughly $200 million.
Clemens today’s working session will ensure council understands the budget, and can provide some direction to staff on a budget bylaw.
