With the City of Nanaimo’s 2014 budget still not finalized, Council is giving staff the OK to get started on a few time sensitive projects.
The 11.7-million dollars in spending is mainly on public works and infrastructure projects like sewers, but the list also includes 9-thousand dollars for immediate replacement of parking meters.
The City says letting a large number of broken meters go un-replaced much longer would mean losing revenue and creating a poor public perception.
