Helijet celebrated the official launch of direct service between Nanaimo and Vancouver with a reception on Wednesday at the Nanaimo Cruise Ship Terminal.
An eager crowd was on hand to check out the 12-seat helicopter, and hear from Helijet‘s President and CEO Daniel Sitnam.
He says working with the City of Nanaimo, Nanaimo Port Authority and Snuneymuxw First Nation to establish the service was a breeze.
Sitnam says they’ve been flying to and from Nanaimo for a week and so far they’re hearing nothing but good feedback from customers.
They’re currently offering several daily flights during the week and Sitnam says they’re considering introducing weekend trips. Come April, Helijet will start offering free flights for kids between two and 11 years old who are travelling with an adult.
