Handgun stolen during B&E on Ragged Island

Sunshine Coast RCMP say a handgun was among the items stolen during a break-in at a home on Ragged Island, between Keats and Bowen Island.

Police say it happened sometime in the first two weeks of this month.

The thief, or thieves, got away with a Smith and Wesson 22 caliber revolver, a 12-foot silver and red Lund aluminum boat with the name “Rag-LUND Island” on the side, a 9.9 horse power Evinrude outboard, and a scuba tank.

RCMP say the fact a firearm was taken is especially worrying.

Investigators found a small dinghy with a sail nearby but they’re not sure if there’s any connection.
