School says support for classmates of accident victim available as long as it's needed

Students and staff at Cedar Secondary are facing another tough day as they deal with the death of a 17 year old student in a longboarding accident Monday night near the school.

Cedar Principal Chad Lintott says they’re doing everything they can to support the classmates and teachers of Ryan Wallace-Tarry.

Lintott says those resources will be available as long as they’re needed.

Meanwhile, Nanaimo RCMP say the accident is still under investigation, and there’s been no decision on whether the 28-year old driver of the truck involved will face any charges.

The street was dimly lit and the boy was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing.  He also didn’t have a helmet on.
