The Island Coastal Economic Trust is putting up some money to help restore and expand a Sechelt landmark.
ICE-T says it’s providing a 150-thousand dollar grant for the Davis Bay Wharf project.
The District of Sechelt is also setting aside money in its budget for the 600-thousand dollar face-lift, and a private fundraising effort is currently underway.
“ICE-T’s goal is to help communities leverage investments to help spur economic growth and vitality,” says ICE-T Chair Phil Kent. “This project is a great example of how working together with the community and local government provides tangible results with fairly modest investments.”
With the ICE-T money secured, construction could begin in late spring, and be finished by the end of summer 2014.
