The Nanaimo Airport Commission is looking for backing from local governments for an expansion.
Chair John Craig says the Commission is asking for letters of support to help it get money from the Federal government’s Building Canada Fund. They’re hoping to hear from Nanaimo City Council tonight.
Craig says the expansion is needed to deal with a big increase in business at the airport over last few years, and to attract more.
Craig says the expansion will cost an estimated $11 million dollars.
