Nanaimo RCMP are looking for a suspect who broke into a home in the middle of the night and gave the homeowner a nasty fright.
It happened on Wednesday, February 18 in 600 block of Regal St.
Cst. Gary O’Brien says a 27-year-old man was asleep in his bedroom with his wife and 2-year-old child when the light suddenly turned on.
The man was startled to find a stranger standing in the room.
O’Brien says the man jumped up and chased the stranger but wasn’t able to catch him.

O’Brien says the suspect was described as white, about 5’6″, in his twenties, wearing a dark sweatshirt.
He made off with a lime green backpack with an Asus laptop inside.
