Sechelt Council urged to work to restore lost bowling greens

The Sunshine Coast Lawn Bowling Club is making a fresh pitch for a new home.

It’s been a decade since the bowling green at the Sechelt golf course was dismantled, but the Club remains active.

Club members went to Sechelt Council this week asking them to “right a wrong”. They say it would cost about 200 thousand dollars to build a new natural grass green.

Mayor Bruce Milne says he’s confident there’s a solution.

The says they still have all their equipment – including a marquee – ready to go and they could start playing again “tomorrow”.
