A 20-year-old Nanaimo man is facing 21 months in jail. He was sentenced on Friday, February 6.
Cameron Compton pleaded guilty to assaulting a 17-year-old girl who stopped to help some kittens cross the road. The attack happened on June 11 around 1:30am on Wilkinson Rd near the Cedar bridge. He choked her and tried to drag her back to his car, but she managed to fight him off.
Along with jail time, Compton will also serve two years probation.
