Water Quality Advisory for Nanaimo cancelled

The City of Nanaimo has cancelled the Water Quality Advisory that was issued on Friday.

The advisory was meant to warn residents about potentially-cloudy drinking water, due to turbidity from the heavy rain.

The City monitored and tested drinking water extensively over the weekend. The bacteriological testing showed no sign of bacteria in the water.

“With the passing of the significant rainstorms of late last week, turbidity levels in the City’s drinking water source have returned to normal,” says Water Resources Manager Bill Sims. “The Water Quality Advisory was put in place on Friday as a means of keeping the public informed about changes they may notice to the drinking water.  This Advisory is now cancelled.”
