Water quality advisory issued for Nanaimo

The heavy rain has prompted the City of Nanaimo to issue a water quality advisory.

Turbidity means residents may notice slight discolouration due to sediment in the water. The City is still disinfecting all drinking water as usual, and monitoring it very closely. At this point, a boil advisory has not been issued.

“At this time we are advising the public that we are monitoring the City’s drinking water system carefully and that they may notice discolouration,” says Geoff Goodall, Nanaimo’s Director of  Engineering and Public Works. “If the situation deteriorates, the City will notify the public.”
