Residents getting chance to steer development's plan

People in Sechelt are getting a unique chance this weekend… They can have a say in what a major development will look like – before the company even submits its application.

SSC Properties has taken over land on Sechelt Inlet that was once slated for a subdivision and golf couse.

Mark Sagar is one of the partners. He says they definitely don’t want to stick with that plan, and they’re hosting an open house Saturday (Feb 7) to get ideas from the community… who will get to see them unfold on the spot.

The open house is from 1 to 4 at the Seaside Centre.

Sagar says they’d like people to go to sscproperties.com to pre-register.

The District of Sechelt says some of its planning staff will be attending, but the event is being run by the developer. The District will get more involved once SSC brings forward a formal application for OCP or zoning changes.
