The Gibsons and District Chamber of Commerce is floating the idea of a mobile business license option for the Sunshine Coast.
It’s an idea that’s already taken off in other parts of the province, including the Nanaimo area.
Mobile business licenses would allow people like plumbers or contractors to buy a single business license covering several municipalities, instead of taking out licenses in every location they work.
Chamber executive director Donna McMahon told Gibsons Council Tuesday night that it’s one of the items on their radar for 2015.
Mayor Wayne Rowe says it’s also on his radar, and has been for some time. Behind the scenes municipal staff on the Sunshine Coast have already been discussing it.
