Arrest made by Nanaimo's Street Crime Unit

A 35-year-old man is facing charges after the Nanaimo RCMP’s new street crime unit made an early morning arrest on Tuesday, January 14.

Police tried to arrest Dane Dorozan on Friday, January 10, when they stopped his car, but he took off.

He’s from Abbotsford and has a lengthy criminal record including break and enter, and multiple driving-related convictions.

Police finally managed to nab him yesterday. They charged him with escaping lawful custody, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, a breach of probation.

He’ll appear in court February 4th.
