Human remains found in Nanaimo’s Millstone River in September have been identified as that of a missing elderly man.
80-year-old Jacques Marcien Bonenfant went missing in April of 2013. He went for a walk and never returned to the retirement home where he lived.
The BC Coroners Service confirmed his body was the one found at the edge of the Millstone River in Barsby Park on September 28, 2014.
Their investigation is continuing. Foul play has been ruled out.
