A 33-year-old Nanaimo man is facing numerous charges after stealing a security camera from a local motel.
Nanaimo RCMP Constable Gary O’Brien says five surveillance cameras were taken from the Value Lodge motel on Nicol St on Fri, Dec 12. He says RCMP investigators used footage from those cameras to identify the suspect.
O’Brien says the suspect was arrested after a brief police chase on Wednesday, He says they’re recommending nine charges including Theft, Possession of Stolen Property and Break and Enter.
The suspect is making an appearance in Nanaimo Provincial Court today.
