Nanaimo seeks to establish format for citizen input

The City of Nanaimo is trying to establish informal, open topic community conversations.
To figure out what format would work best, the City’s Phillip Cooper says, a couple of sessions will be held with the community….
Options include town halls, open houses, revolving conversations, where an inner circle of people would discuss topics while others listen in, or something called a World Cafe, which is a meeting process that features a series of simultaneous conversations in response to predetermined questions.
The first meeting to determine the best way forward will be held this Wednesday (Aug 16) from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Oliver Woods Community Centre.
Then the road show will continue Thursday, August 17th from 3:30 to 5:30 at the Harewood Activity Centre.
The final meeting is set for Monday, August 21st from 11 to 1 at Maffeo Sutton Park in the Lions Pavilion.
