Plenty of local athletes at the Summer Games

The 2017 Canada Summer Games start this Friday in Winnipeg.
There are a number of athletes from the Sunshine Coast and Nanaimo representing Team BC.
From Nanaimo participants include, in athletics, Rebecca Bassett, Maryam Bassett and Sandri Isaac; Canoer/Kayaker Cameron Antifave; in baseball, Joshua Laukkanen; golfer Matthew Cella; rower, Riley Knight; for softball, Charlie Andrews; and for beach volleyball, Isaac Bevis and Jeffrey Webb.
There are two athletes participating from the Sunshine Coast.
They are cyclist/mountain biker, Lucy Schick and, for swimming, Genevieve Verge.
In all, there are 354 athletes, 52 coaches, 27 managers and 22 mission staff representing B.C. at the Games.
The 2018 BC Summer Games will be held in the Cowichan Valley in venues from Ladysmith to Shawnigan Lake to Lake Cowichan and everywhere in between.
The Games will be held July 19th to the 22nd.
