Nothing set in stone for Silverstone

Trellis Seniors Services’ application for a long term health facility remains open according to the District of Sechelt.

Connie Jordison notes the district has been advised by the applicants of Silverstone on Derby Road that they’ll be speaking to Vancouver Coastal Health about potential changes to the application, but nothing is set in stone.

Recent reports suggest that Trellis is looking at potentially building the facility in Gibsons instead if West Sechelt.

Jordison says the district will wait for an update from Trellis and VCH and then they’ll go from there. But for now, she says council has asked staff to look at an OCP amendment regarding policies for long term care facilities, and that’s what they’ll be focusing on.
