The RCMP in partnership with the City and Fire Rescue in Nanaimo will be participating in Camp Courage.
The inaugural, one day event for kids aged 9 to 12, is taking place Thursday, July 20.
Constable Denise Fraser says Camp Courage is designed to allow participants to find out what it takes to become a police officer or fire fighter and to build community relations…..
Fraser says through hands on demonstrations participants will learn about police officer and fire fighter training, responsibilities and equipment in a fun environment….
Fire Rescue crews will demonstrate the different jobs and roles of the fire department and participants will be taught how to perform bystander CPR.
