Two Sears outlets on the Sunshine Coast largely unaffected by the closures

Sears Canada says it plans to cut 2,900 jobs and close the doors at 59 of its locations across the country.
The stores to be closed include the Sechelt location, however, there are plans to reopen the outlet under a different banner and those plans have been in the works for two months now.
The store in Gibsons, which is independently owned, will stay open.
The Nanaimo store is not on the list of those set to close either.
The closures are part of the retailers plan to restructure as it applied for court protection from its creditors this morning.
