An early morning accident on White Rapids Road in south Nanaimo, resulted in an air ambulance being called in to get a 20 year old man with very serious, life threatening injuries to hospital.
Nanaimo RCMP say the accident was discovered around 2 this morning (Fri) by a passing motorist.
It appears the 20 year old man, from Nanaimo, lost of control of his vehicle and crashed.
He was alone in the car.
Mounties say he was still wearing his seatbelt when emergency crews arrived and without it, and the deployment of air bags, would likely not have survived.
