National Day of Mourning

Workers who lost their lives on the job are being honoured as part of the annual Day of Mourning today (Apr 28).
Paige Knapman, a Vancouver Island Occupational Health and Safety Advisor says it’s also a way for communities to come together and support families who have lost a member in a work-related accident.

In 2016, there were 144 workplace-related fatality claims accepted by Work-Safe B-C.
