The Sechelt Downtown Business Association is happy to see the petition, against the increase to the BIA levy, was not successful.
$70,000 will be collected from businesses within the BIA boundary annually and Matt Mclean says the increased budget will enable the association to reach out to more businesses and serve them differently.
Mclean notes there was opposition from some businesses within the BIA to increase the budget and the association plans to host an open forum to address those concerns.
