Parkland residents filled up Gibsons Town Hall as they waited for the decision on Parkland Phase 3.
In the end, town staff’s recommendations to exclude Parkland Phase 3 from connecting to the Gibsons District Energy Utility was a go after a 3-2 vote at council.
Councillor Silas White and Stafford Lumley disagreed with the exclusion.
Lumley says the town has analyzed the problem to “death” and they know what they have to do better.
Mayor Wayne Rowe, Councillor Charlene SanJenko and Jeremy Valeriote were in favour of the exclusion.
Valeriote says they don’t disagree with the concept, but they need to get it right before they continue with the connection.
