The Unitarian Winter Weather Shelter in Nanaimo has been turning some people away during this cold snap.
Kevin Griffith says they do have the option though, of heading over to the Salvation Army and that’s what people have been doing…..
He says generally, it’s been business as usual at the Shelter.
As far as the need there, Griffith says they could use donations of socks, sweat pants and jackets.

The Emergency Cold Weather Shelter in Sechelt is operating under different hours today.
Alicia Ladouceur with RainCity Housing says instead the regular hours of 4 until 8, the shelter will be open all day today. (Dec 9th)
The shelter is located on 5850 Barnacle Street at the ST. Hilda’s Anglican Church Annex.
