More buses for the Coast

More buses could be running on the Sunshine Coast next year.

The Sunshine Coast Regional District are giving the thumbs up to BC Transit for six medium duty vehicles, which means nearly 6000 hours service will be added to the existing system.

Rebecca Newlove with BC Transit says the next step is to get an approval from the province and if it’s approved then people can expect to see more buses on Route 90 during peak times of the day.

The provincial government is expected to have a decision by early next year and then the expansion plan will be implemented in September.
