Some drivers spared a ticket get a picture instead

The Sunshine Coast RCMP, ICBC and Gibsons Elementary are taking a different approach to discourage people from distracted driving.

Constable Harrison Mohr says they recently set up shop around the school zone outside of Gibsons Elementary and drivers who were on their phones got something else, rather than a 368 dollar ticket.

Mohr says distracted driving is a factor in one out of four people who die on BC roads and, considering that distracted driving is a choice, that number is completely unacceptable.
