Province seeks to improve health services in remote communities

The government is hoping to offer residents better health services from paramedics.

Health Minister Terry says several B.C. remote communities will be introducing the Community Paramedicine program going forward.

Bowen Island and Madeira Park and Gabriola Island are a part of that list of communities.

The services provided may include checking blood pressure, assisting with diabetic care, helping to identify fall hazards, medication assessment, post-injury or illness evaluation, and assisting with respiratory conditions.
