Cannabis Coalition hoping to make another pitch to City Council

The Nanaimo Cannabis Coalition is hoping to have another go at getting City Council onside with the idea of licensing and regulating the city’s dispensaries.

10 shops in Nanaimo are under threat of enforcement action from RCMP, after they sent out a “cease and desist” letter on November 12th, telling the dispensaries they were violating the law, and giving them 7 days to shut down voluntarily.

The Coalition has already been in front of Council once, but didn’t get a firm commitment of support.

After a meeting last week with the mayor they’re hoping to make another presentation at the November 23rd committee meeting
